SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Cuyahoga Community College continued its recent streak of heavy representation in the OCCAC’s weekly spring sport honors. Noah Laster of Eastern Gateway, this week’s Baseball Pitcher of the Week, crashed the party as the lone non-Triceratops winner for April 1-7, 2019.
DOMINICK BUCKO
Cuyahoga Community College | Baseball Player of the Week
Bucko cracked multiple hits in five of six games and drove in two or more runs in four contests. In his lone game without a hit (0-1), he scored three runs after drawing two walks and reaching on an error. Bucko went 12-22 (.545) for the week, racking up 11 RBI and a whopping 15 runs scored. He slugged .954 with a double, triple and two homeruns. Bucko added four walks for an overall weekly OPS of 1.569.
CASSANDRA FENDRICK
Cuyahoga Community College | Softball Player of the Week
Fendrick recorded at least one hit and an RBI in all four games during a 3-1 week for Cuyahoga. She batted .563 (9-16) overall with two homeruns and eight RBI. Fendrick slugged .938 with a 1.526 OPS for the week. She is the third consecutive Triceratops to take home the OCCAC Softball Player of the Week honor.

Eastern Gateway Community College | Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Laster nabs his second honor of the season by going 2-0 in a pair of starts spanning 13 innings. He opened the week with a 7-inning complete game 3-1 victory over Edison State, striking out 10 batters along the way compared to just two hits and no walks. He came back later in the week and gutted out a win at Owens. For the week, Laster surrendered five runs on six hits and two walks while fanning 16 batters.
LYNDSEY BAGLIA
Cuyahoga Community College | Softball Pitcher of the Week
Back-to-back for Baglia after winning her second straight weekly laurel. Her latest recognition was fueled by Cuyahoga’s first perfect game in school history. Baglia blanked Edison State on the road for five innings in a 12-0 truncated mercy rule game, striking out five of the 15 batters faced with no hits or walks. She followed that up with a scoreless inning of relief and then another winning start which included seven innings and a lone run allowed. Despite a not-so-good fourth appearance to conclude the week, Baglia registered an overall stat line of: 2-0, 16.0 IP, 12H, 7 R, 7 ER, BB, 12 K.
