Settles, Sicking Back in the Victory Circle

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Tyriana Settles (Owens) and Elizabeth Sicking (Sinclair) are no strangers to earning recognition from the league office, combining for seven of a possible 12 OCCAC Volleyball Player of the Week honors in the season’s first month and a half after both receiving the distinction once again on Sept. 30.

Sicking has followed up her 5-award 2018 campaign with four more weekly accolades already in ’19. Her ninth career honor came after averaging 4.25 kills and 2.83 digs per set in a 3-0 week for the Tartan Pride. She recorded no less than 14 kills in all three contests and dug a total of 34 balls in 12 sets played.

Settles’ latest honor was fueled by heavy contributions both offensively and defensively from the freshman outside hitter. She registered per set averages of 4.13 digs and 4.06 points over the course of a 16-set week. Settles was lethal from the service stripe, connecting on 10 aces. She was responsible for a half dozen block assists as well.
