SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Brendon Perez from Lakeland Community College broke through for his first career conference honor, named the OCCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for Apr. 22-28. He’s joined in the award alley by repeat winners Megan Mulhan (Cuyahoga, softball player of the week), Dominick Bucko (Cuyahoga, baseball player of the week) and Ashley Brown (Sinclair, softball pitcher of the week).
DOMINICK BUCKO
Cuyahoga Community College | Baseball Player of the Week
Dominick’s dominance continued last week, earning his second straight weekly honor and third in the last four weeks. He slugged at a 1.087 clip on the strength of three homeruns, two triples and two doubles in 23 at-bats. Bucko was responsible for a whopping 29 runs, driving in 16 and scoring 13 of his own. He drew a half dozen walks as well, running his OPS to 1.742 for the week.
MEGAN MULHAN
Cuyahoga Community College | Softball Player of the Week
Mulhan was a run-producing machine, registering 14 RBI and nine runs scored in eight games. She batted .571 (16-28) and smacked four doubles, a triple and homerun to slug .893. Mulhan swiped four bags in a two-game series vs. Kent State-Tuscarawas.
This marks the sixth straight softball player of the week for Cuyahoga, a streak started by Mulhan on March 25. She is the first repeat winner during the stretch.

Lakeland Community College | Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Perez flung five innings of no-hit baseball for a complete game mercy rule win over Cuyahoga. He struck out six batters while walking four. Perez is the first Laker to corral pitcher of the week honors since Hudson Widrig on Apr. 4, 2018.
ASHLEY BROWN
Sinclair Community College | Softball Pitcher of the Week
Brown brings home her fourth OCCAC accolade this season and first since March 18 after starting the season by winning the laurel in three of four weeks. For her latest recognition, Brown worked a 20-inning shift over the course of four appearances. She picked up the win in all three starts and the save in a relief showing. Brown totaled 14 strikeouts while allowing two runs on 13 hits and issuing zero walks. She tossed six innings in Game 1 at Cuyahoga before coming back in Game 2 of the doubleheader with 1.1 innings of relief as the Tartan Pride took over first place in the OCCAC standings.
