Another 5-Pack of Award Winners

Bryant & Stratton (OH) Athletics snagged three of the five OCCAC honors this week (April 11-17) while Kylie Ulch (Owens) and Jacob Savina (Clark State) joined the party. The three Bobcat honorees were Sam Goode, Dominick Prevesk and Tyler Schlick.

KYLIE ULCH| Softball (Position) Player of the Week
Owens Community College
Ulch did not strikeout in 24 at-bats during an 8-2 week for The Express. She batted .625 (15-24) with a double, two homeruns and 11 RBI while playing in nine of the 10 games. The redshirt freshman was dominant in a 4-games series versus Edison State, going 8-for-14 with two homers, including a grand slam, 10 RBI and six runs scored.

Prevesk ignited an offensive explosion for the Bobcats resulting in 101 runs during a 7-0 week (14.4 runs/game average). The sophomore second baseman led the charge with 17 RBI and 10 runs scored. Prevesk was directly responsible for at least two runs in six of the seven victories. He went 15-for-25 (.600) with five doubles, a triple and three homeruns to slug 1.240 for the week. In a 4-game league series versus Lorain County, Prevesk racked up four doubles, three homers, 14 RBI and six runs.

SAM GOODE | Softball Pitcher of the Week

Goode started Game 1 of a doubleheader at Lorain County, slinging a 7-inning complete game win. She struck out eight batters in that one, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk. Goode then came back in Game 2 out of the bullpen and delivered the final four outs and earned a save. She punched out two of the four batters faced.

Clark State Community College
Savina is back again, snagging his third weekly award of 2022 and fourth in his career. He blanked Lakeland for a 7-inning complete game shutout. Savina spread out three hits and two walks while striking out a half dozen batters.

TYLER SCHLICK | co-Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Schlick was electric in his 7-inning complete game shutout at Lorain County. He totaled 11 strikeouts while allowing just two hits and issuing no walks.
