This Week’s Top OCCAC Athletes

Four different schools are represented in this week’s OCCAC honors. Anna Quinn (Edison State) and Cecilia Stephens (Cuyahoga) maintained their respective teams’ stronghold on the weekly softball accolades while Noah Brite (Bryant & Stratton) and Breven Deckrosh (Owens) put forth exceptional performances on the baseball diamond.

Anna Quinn | Softball Pitcher of the Week | Edison State
Quinn was a workhorse, shouldering 17 innings over the course of four appearances. She went 3-0 in the circle while the Chargers posted a 5-1 overall mark, including 4-0 in games she pitched. Quinn’s three wins were all complete game efforts.

Cecilia Stephens | Softball Position Player of the Week | Cuyahoga
Stephens was cranking extra-base hits all week long, totaling four homeruns, three triples and two doubles in just four games. She went 11-for-18 (.611) overall while slugging an absurd 1.722. Stephens registered no worse than two hits, two runs and three RBI in all four contests.

Noah Brite | Baseball Pitcher of the Week | Bryant & Stratton (OH)
Brite flung a 7-inning complete game shutout during the Bobcats’ 5-0 triumph over Terra State. He was nearly untouchable, allowing just four hits while striking out 12 batters and avoiding any walks.

Breven Deckrosh | Baseball Position Player of the Week | Owens
Deckrosh batted .778 (14-18) during a 6-0 week for the Express. He was directly responsible for 22 runs, scoring 12 and driving in 10 more. His slugging percentage rose to .944 on the strength of a double and a triple. This marks Deckrosh’s second career award.
