Edison State Softball, Owens Baseball Sweep Weekly Honors

Grace Shaffer remains the OCCAC Pitcher of the Week and is joined by a different Edison State teammate, Audrey Fyffe, this time around as the Position Player of the Week for this season’s second presentation of weekly awards. Owens representatives Kolson Egnor and Wilson Stopera are this week’s baseball honorees.

Grace Shaffer | Softball Pitcher of the Week | Edison State
Shaffer made three appearances spanning 10.1 innings, allowing just three earned runs over that stretch. All three opponents with Division I programs.

Audrey Fyffe | Softball Position Player of the Week | Edison State
Fyffe batted .300 (3-10) with two doubles to slug .500. She was responsible for four runs, scoring two and driving in two more. Fyffe added a stolen base to round out her weekly stat line.

Kolson Egnor | Baseball Pitcher of the Week | Owens
Egnor went 2-0 out of the bullpen, delivering 3.2 innings of pivotal shutout pitching. Both outings came during crucial points of tightly-contested wins over Ridgewater College and Lake Michigan College. Egnor allowed four hits and walked none while striking out three batters in his two scoreless showings.

Wilson Stopera | Baseball Position Player of the Week | Owens
Stopera batted .500 (7-14) with a triple and five RBI during a 4-1 week for the Express. He racked up 10 runs scored, including at least one tally in all five contests. In addition to his seven hits, Stopera reached base via three walks. He wreaked havoc once there, swiping three bases as well.
