Whitney Staggs (Edison State) and Mike Wallace (Clark State) are the final OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week for this season as both concluded the regular season with a bang.

MIKE WALLACE
Clark State Community College
Wallace poured in 25.7 points per game during a 3-game week for the Eagles. He also corralled 8.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.0 assists per game. Wallace sank 29 field goals for the week, including a half dozen from beyond the 3-point arc. His aggressive attack also led to 19 free throw attempts, converting on 13 of those freebies. Wallace saved his best for last, posting a 32-point, 12-rebound double-double in the season finale versus nationally-ranked Lakeland.

This marks the second weekly honor for Wallace, also earning the recognition on Dec. 23, 2019.

WHITNEY STAGGS
Edison State Community College
Staggs and the Chargers completed an undefeated 27-0 regular season by cramming in four more wins during the final week. The sophomore forward racked up 80 points, 28 rebounds, 11 assists and seven steals, good for per-game averages of 20.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 steals. Those averages came while playing less than 30 minutes per contest because of limited time in two lopsided wins. She knocked down 57% (35-61) of her field goal attempts.

Staggs is now a three-time winner this season and five times overall. Her previous award-garnering efforts came on Jan. 24, 2022; Nov. 29, 2021; Jan. 21, 2019; Nov. 12, 2018.
