Repeat Winners Return for More Accolades

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The quartet of OCCAC Basketball honorees this week, Dominique Camp (Sinclair), Melia Walder (Columbus State), James Graham (Cuyahoga) and Elijah Bishop (Columbus State), have combined for 13 Player of the Week awards in total with 12 coming this season. The pair of Cougars has each earned four recognitions, including back-to-back-to-back for Bishop.

DOMINIQUE CAMP
Sinclair Community College | D-II Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Camp did it all for the Tartan Pride, registering per game averages of 24.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.5 blocks. She knocked down half of her shots (19-38), including five 3-pointers. Camp logged 77 minutes across two games and eight points from the foul line.

JAMES GRAHAM
Cuyahoga Community College | D-II Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Graham was dominant in lifting Cuyahoga to a pair of league wins. He opened the week with 21 points, 15 rebounds, five blocks and five assists versus Lakeland before coming back with 20 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and three assists against Edison State. The Triceratops riding a nine-game winning streak and has placed themselves in contention for the OCCAC D-II regular season title after the crucial wins over Lakeland and Edison State.  

MELIA WALDER
Columbus State Community College | D-III Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Walder kept the double-doubles coming, posting her fourth straight with 18 points and 10 boards in the NJCAA Region XII D-III Championship game versus Owens. Walder is hitting the double-double mark at a 48% clip, owning 11 such performances through 23 games this season.

 ELIJAH BISHOP
Columbus State Community College | D-III Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Bishop has scorched the month of February, wrangling his third consecutive weekly honor. For his latest efforts, Bishop put forth 19.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.7 steals, 1.3 assists and 1.0 blocks per game during a 3-0 week for the Cougars that ended with a two postseason victories over Lorain County and Hocking College. He garnered two double-doubles in the process and converted at a 65% on 37 field goal attempts.
