OCCAC Recognizes Top Performers

Vanecia Billings (Lorain County) and Trevell Adams (Hocking) were voted the OCCAC Players of the Week for Feb. 14-20.

TREVELL ADAMS
Hocking College
Last week, Adams clinched his fifth consecutive month earning a Player of the Week recognition, but has now gone back-to-back weeks for the first time. Overall, the freshman guard has gathered five of the 15 weekly conference honors issued this season (Nov. 8, Dec. 6, Jan. 24, Feb. 14, Feb. 21).

His most recent award-worthy effect extended the Hawks’ unblemished season mark to 23-0 overall and 10-0 in the OCCAC. Adams averaged 30.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 3.0 assists per game as Hocking tacked on three league victories. He knocked down 32-of-63 (51%) field goal attempts while getting to the charity stripe 23 times and sinking 20 (87%).

VANECIA BILLINGS
Lorain County Community College
Billings racked up 30, yes THIRTY, rebounds in the Commodores’ 67-59 triumph at Clark State. She was also responsible for 22 points, five steals, three blocks and a pair of assists in the win. For the week, Billings averaged 20.5 rebounds, 15.5 points, 3.0 steals, 3.0 blocks and 1.5 assists per game.

This represents her fifth weekly league accolade overall. The two-sport standout has corralled three laurels for basketball (Nov. 18, 2019; Jan. 6, 2020; Feb. 21, 2022) and two for volleyball (Oct. 21, 2019; Oct. 11, 2021).
