Adams, Johnson Continue Dominant Campaigns

Trevell Adams (Hocking) and Kailah Johnson (Edison State) earned their fourth and fifth OCCAC Player of the Week honor, respectively, after each pushed their undefeated and conference-leading squads to a pair of wins last week (Feb. 7-13).

TREVELL ADAMS
Hocking College
Adams racked up impressive numbers in the biggest OCCAC men’s basketball game of the season, accumulating 35 points, 12 rebounds, seven steals, three assists and a block in the Hawks’ 90-79 triumph over #2 Lakeland. Adams was stellar in an earlier league victory as well, tossing in 20 points, eight rebounds, two blocks, an assist and a steal at Clark State. For the week, he averaged 27.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game while shooting 47% (21-45) from the field (4-of-10 from beyond the arc) and 82% (9-11) at the foul line.

Adams has now been named the conference player of the week once each month of the season (Nov. 8, Dec. 6, Jan. 24, Feb. 14).

KAILAH JOHNSON
Edison State Community College
Johnson adds her fifth weekly honor, putting up a total of 48 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and three assists in the Chargers’ two wins. She, too, shined brightest in the spotlight of a marquee match-up, good for 25 points, seven boards and three steals as Edison State solidified its spot atop the OCCAC standings with a 90-60 blasting of D-III’s top-ranked squad in Owens. Johnson didn’t slack off in Game Two of the week either, tacking on 23 more points against Lorain County. She was good for a 56% (19-34) shooting percentage for the week.
