Ward Joins Repeat Winners as Player of the Week Honorees

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Nate Ward from Sinclair Community College has earned his first career OCCAC Player of the Week award after a 2-0 week for the Tartan Pride. Allison Siefring (Edison State) corrals her league-leading fifth D-II weekly accolade of the season while Columbus State’s Elijah Bishop and Mickale Bates are the D-III recipients once again.

ALLISON SIEFRING
Edison State Community College | D-II Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Siefring was dominant during a 3-0 week for the Chargers, putting forth per game averages of 22.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals. She exploded in two games versus OCCAC foes, scoring 50 points and hauling in 31 rebounds in wins over Clark State and Terra State. In her non-conference tilt, Siefring flirted with a triple-double by registering 17 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

NATE WARD
Sinclair Community College | D-II Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Ward stuffed the stat sheet during Sinclair’s 105-83 triumph over the University of Dayton club team to the tune of a triple-double with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. He knocked down 11-of-21 field goal attempts in that contest. For the week, Ward tallied per game averages of 21.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.5 steals.

MICKALE BATES
Columbus State Community College | D-III Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Bates went wild in a win over Hocking College, recording a triple-double with 16 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists. She wasn’t far off from the elusive quadruple-double, swiping seven steals versus the Hawks as well. For the week, Bates averaged 16.5 points, 10.0 assists, 6.5 rebounds and 6.0 steals per game.

ELIJAH BISHOP
Columbus State Community College | D-III Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Bishop was dialed in, hitting 18-of-24 field goal attempts en route to 45 points in two games. That 75% conversion rate stood steady beyond the arc as he knocked down 3-of-4 three-pointers. Playing limited minutes in a pair of lopsided wins, just 25.5 minutes per game, Bishop crammed in 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in addition to the 22.5 points.
