Three Schools Represented in Latest OCCAC Weekly Laurels

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Mike Wallace of Clark State Community College snagged his first career OCCAC Player of the Week award while Audra Schaub (Edison State) and Saraysia Nelson (Columbus State) were both honored for the second time this season.

Edison State Community College | D-II Women’s Player of the Week
Schaub reels in her second accolade in the last three weeks after scoring 16 points during a tight 54-48 road win at Wayne County. In addition to netting 30% of the Chargers points, she posted five assists, three rebounds and a steal.

SARAYSIA NELSON
Columbus State Community College | D-III Women’s Player of the Week
Nelson dropped in all six attempts from beyond the 3-point line and 7-of-10 field goal attempts overall en route to 25 points during the Cougars’ 84-65 road win at Schoolcraft College. She also converted on 5-of-6 foul shots while adding four rebounds and a steal. Her previous weekly honor came on Nov. 11.

MIKE WALLACE
Clark State Community College | D-II Men’s Player of the Week
Wallace assaulted the nets for a 37.5 points per game average, sending through 28 field goals (four 3-pointers) and 15 foul shots. He was also responsible for 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals in a split week for the Eagles. Wallace exploded for 42 points in a 121-101 shootout victory over OU Lancaster before coming back with 33 more points at UC Clermont.

This represents the fourth different school to earn D-II Men’s Player of the Week recognition through the season’s first eight weeks and the first Clark State player since Korey Joyner on Jan. 22, 2018.
