Quante May (Lorain County) and Hayley St. John (Owens) put forth extraordinary efforts during the week of Dec. 5-11, each earning OCCAC Player of the Week status.
May registered a double-double in both Commodore contests, totaling 40 points on 16-of-36 (44%) shooting and 20 rebounds (10 on the offensive glass). He knocked down 5-of-11 (45%) shots from beyond the arc. The sophomore guard was also responsible for six assists, five steals and two blocks.
St. John brings home her second such honor, receiving the league’s weekly award in January 2022 as well. Her latest award-worthy performance included per game averages of 19.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals during a 3-0 week for The Express. She converted on 47% (23-53) her field goal attempts and took care of the ball with just seven turnovers in a total of 87 minutes played.
