Fueger, Moore Gobble Up Weekly Awards

The week surrounding Thanksgiving was low on games, but not on award-worthy performances. Madison Fueger (Lakeland) and James Moore (Hocking) cooked up some impressive numbers to earn OCCAC Player of the Week recognition.

Madison Fueger | So. | F | Lakeland Community College
Fueger flirted with a double-double, corralling 24 points and nine rebounds in the Lakers 64-53 win over Jamestown. She converted on 8-of-15 field goal attempts, including 3-of-5 from long range. Fueger was efficient at the charity stripe as well, knocking down 5-of-6 foul shots. She made her mark defensively with four steals in 36 minutes played.

James Moore | So. | F | Hocking College
Moore and the Hawks went 2-0 in a pair of games bookending the week. He seized his third career OCCAC weekly honor by totaling 41 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals in just 55 minutes during the two lopsided triumphs. Moore made 17-of-33 shots overall and 6-of-13 from beyond the arc.

Lakeland is the fourth different women’s basketball program represented in as many weeks this season while Moore becomes Hocking’s second honoree of 2022-23 (Trevell Adams; Nov. 14).
