Winning Ways Lead to Individual Honors

Treshawn Cody (Hocking Men’s Basketball) and Rylie Homan (Edison State Women’s Basketball) combined to be a part of five victories during the week of Nov. 18-25, earning the OCCAC’s Player of the Week laurels along the way. The Hawks went 3-0 while the Chargers tallied wins in both of their contests.

Cody makes it back-to-back weekly honors and this represents his fourth career such honor. He scored no less than 25 points in all three Hawk triumphs, shooting 55% (31-56) from the floor and 45% (4-9) beyond the arc. Cody was a major factor defensively as well, posting per-game averages of 3.3 blocks and 2.7 steals. He also added 19 rebounds and two assists while playing just 72 minutes in the trifecta of lopsided wins.

Homan becomes the second Charger to receive the weekly recognition (Abby Yukon, Nov. 11) in the season’s first month. She was dominant in an OCCAC win, dropping 30 points on 12-of-20 shooting, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range. In Edison State’s second game, a 70-43 hammering of Henry Ford, Homan was a defensive menace with eight steals and steered the offensive ship to the tune of seven assists. For the week, she averaged 17.5 points, 6.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals while committing zero turnovers in 58 minutes.
