OCCAC's Best in First Full Week of Basketball Play

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Four student-athletes rose above the rest during the first full week of OCCAC basketball competition, earning the league’s player of the week honors. Sinclair’s Dominique Camp and Ryan Stowers of Sinclair Community College picked up the D-II accolades while Saraysia Nelson (Columbus State) and Shawn Paris, Jr. (Hocking College) each represented their school’s second straight D-III honoree to start the 2019-20 season.

DOMINIQUE CAMP
Sinclair Community College | D-II Women’s Player of the Week
Camp averaged a triple-double for the Tartan Pride, putting up 22.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 12.5 assists per game. She swiped 6.0 steals per game as well, coming up a lone steal shy of recording a quadruple-double against Henry Ford College (22 points, 18 boards, 11 assists, nine steals). Camp shot 62% (21-34) overall from the floor.

SARAYSIA NELSON
Columbus State Community College | D-III Women’s Player of the Week
Nelson lifted the Cougars to two wins by posting 23.5 points, 5.5 steals, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while committing just two turnovers total. She converted on 16-of-29 (55%) shots overall and 6-of-9 from 3-point range.

RYAN STOWERS
Sinclair Community College | D-II Men’s Player of the Week
Stowers put forth 25.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game during two Tartan Pride wins. He hit 19-of-33 shots from the floor and knocked own 14-of-15 foul shots. Stowers added two assists, two steals and a block while committing a lone turnover.

SHAWN PARIS, JR.
Hocking College | D-III Men’s Player of the Week
Paris averaged a double-double with 23.3 points and 10.0 rebounds during a 3-0 week for the Hawks. He produced no less than 18 points and nine rebounds in all three contests. Paris was efficient offensively with a 60% (28-47) shooting percentage which included a 12-of-22 (55%) effort from beyond the arc.
