Harris, Johnson are Back Again

Rod Harris (Lorain County) and Kailah Johnson (Edison State) are the latest OCCAC Player of the Week recipients, and have now combined for seven weekly laurels this season.

ROD HARRIS
Lorain County Community College
Harris snags his third league recognition (Nov. 22, Jan. 3) after coming up a lone rebound shy of back-to-back double-doubles. He started the week with 26 points and 13 boards (10 offensive) against D-II’s 16th-ranked Hawks of Hocking before coming back with 21 points and nine boards (five offensive) in a 76-74 win over KSU Tuscarawas. Harris shot 47% (14-30) from the floor, including 5-of-7 (71%) from beyond the arc, and 88% (14-16) at the foul line. He added in four rebounds, three blocks and two steals.

KAILAH JOHNSON
Edison State Community College
Johnson garners award #4 (Dec. 6, Jan. 3, Jan. 17) by stuffing the stat sheet with 26.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 steals and 4.5 assists per game as the Chargers picked up two league wins and maintained their unblemished season ledger. She knocked down 18-of-35 (51%) field goal attempts and 15-of-17 (88%) at the charity stripe. Johnson was good for a 27-point, 10-rebound double-double at Lakeland.
