Two Repeat Winners Kickstart New Year as Players of the Week

Kaliah Johnson (Edison State) and Rod Harris (Lorain County) have both seized their second OCCAC Player of the Week honor of the season. Each standout lifted their squad to nonconference victories.

ROD HARRIS
Lorain County Community College
Harris exploded for 41 points in a tightly-contested 103-98 triumph over Kent State University Tuscarawas. He was tenacious on both ends of the court, getting to the foul line and knocking down 15-of-16 freebies while also swiping five steals. Harris sank 12-of-17 shots from the floor as well. He came up a lone rebound shy of the double-double as his nine boards paired nicely with four assists.

Harris also won this award on November 22, 2021.

KAILAH JOHNSON
Edison State Community College
Johnson stuffed 27 points into just 21 minutes on the floor during a lopsided 101-47 win over Miami University Middletown. She reached double-double level, adding 10 rebounds with seven coming on the offensive glass. The sophomore guard shot 62% (13-21) from the field and chipped in four assists.

The 13-0 Chargers have corralled six of eight weekly accolades this season with three different Charger representatives winning one or more.
