Lakeland Duo Lands Player of the Week Accolades

Lauren Perry and Jaidon Lipscomb, both representatives of Lakeland Community College, are this week’s OCCAC Players of the Week on the hardwood. The tandem and their squads corralled four wins in as many games played. The two programs are a combined 14-0 in OCCAC play and both sit atop the conference standings.

Perry delivered in a big away with 25 points, 10 rebounds and five steals as the Lakers knocked off preseason favorite Owens to claim the top spot in the OCCAC. She averaged 19.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 4.0 assists per game during the 2-0 week.

Lipscomb snags his second weekly award of the season and third in his career. The sophomore guard opened his week with a 33-point, 11-rebound double-double in handing Cuyahoga just its second league loss and fourth overall. He came back with 24 more points at Owens later in the week, matching the 10 made field goals he had versus the Triceratops. Lipscomb shot 65% (20-31) for the week, including 7-of-12 (58%) from beyond the arc.
