Final Weekly Hoops Honors of '18-19 Announced

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The 2018-19 OCCAC D-II regular season comes to an end with two familiar faces as the league’s Basketball Players of the Week. Amanda Schroeder (Sinclair) snagged her fourth weekly honor this season (ninth career) and John Dawson (Lakeland) won the men’s award for the second time (also on Dec. 3).

Sinclair Community College | D-II Women
Schroeder lifted the Tartan Pride to a share of the OCCAC regular season championship, capping the year at 14-2 in league play. She accumulated huge numbers in a title-clinching week, racking up 60 points and 30 rebounds in two games. Schroeder added 2.5 blocks, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while converting on 22-of-46 shots from the field and 14-of-16 at the charity stripe.

Lakeland Community College | D-II Men
Dawson registered a 34-point, 10-rebound double-double in the Lakers 92-79 road win at Sinclair. He knocked down half (12-24) of his field goals, half (7-14) from beyond the arc while hitting all three foul shots. Dawson added four assists and two steals while logging 39 minutes.

*No D-III awards presented this week with the D-III regular season ending the week prior.
