SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Lorain County Basketball’s Marquita Thompson and Jovon Jones closed out 2018 by earning OCCAC Player of the Week accolades (Dec. 24-30) following standout performances on the road at Wayne County.

MARQUITA THOMPSON
Lorain County Community College | D-III Women
Thompson picks up her second OCCAC weekly honor this month after doing so on Dec. 3 as well. For her latest recognition she did a little bit of everything in the Commodores lone contest -- notching 16 points, five assists, four rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 29 minutes. Thompson converted on 7-of-9 field goal attempts, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.

JOVON JONES
Lorain County Community College | D-III Men
Jones is now a two-time recipient as well, getting the nod as a freshman in November ’17, too. This past week, Jones buried 6-of-7 shots from the floor and 7-of-9 at the charity stripe for 19 points in a 74-69 road victory. He also hauled in a whopping 15 rebounds to go along with five blocks and two assists. Jones is the third different Commodore to grab the weekly men’s award in 2018-19 (Justin Newman – Nov. 5; Thomas Hronis – Nov. 26).
