Scott Barlow Selected as OCCAC's 2018 AD of the Year

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Scott Barlow, Lakeland Community College Athletics Director, has been voted as the OCCAC’s AD of the Year for the 2017-18 academic season. Voted on by his athletics director peers across the conference, Barlow earns the prestigious honor for the fourth time in his career (2002, 2005, 2009, 2018).

In addition to leading Lakeland Athletics for the last 18 years, Barlow has also served as the OCCAC Commissioner since 2002. He has guided the OCCAC growth and stabilization over the last few years. Barlow’s drive for consistent and constant improvement expands beyond Ohio, also an active member of the NJCAA board of directors and the Region XII women’s division director.

He was instrumental in hosting the District baseball tournament at the Sports Force Parks in Sandusky.

Distinction is nothing new for Barlow as the recipient of the 2015 George E. Killian Award of Excellence.

A dozen Lakers earned All-OCCAC accolades during the 2017-18 season, highlighting by Armani Jackson’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Year runner-up performance and softball’s Kallista Hribar being named an All-American. In addition, 16 student-athletes made the OCCAC Academic All-Conference Team under the direction of Barlow and staff.
